Gift giving is one of the highlights of Christmas. However, there are children and families who don’t receive presents on that special day.
Give love on Christmas day with help from Great Toy Take Away. We accept gently used toys and donate them to families in need in Greenville, North Carolina. Rest assured that the items you are giving away will go to a good cause.
How We Started
How We Started
The Great Toy Take Away is a nonprofit organization that was started by Bailey Bliven when she was 5 years old. She was cleaning out her playroom and wanted to give her toys away to families who need help at Christmas. Bailey wanted every child to wake up to gifts on Christmas morning.
2014 was our 1st year. We gave away around 1,000 toys to approximately 100 families. Since then, the event has grown to include community drop-offs and 120 volunteers for over 3 days. We also serve 400 families annually.
We are unique as we accept and encourage the donation of gently used toys. As the years have passed, those families who had received gifts before are now donating and volunteering to our program.
